Cushman & Wakefield Arranges Bronx Church Sale

The closing price for the Bronx Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses equated to $300 per square foot.

NEW YORK – Cushman & Wakefield has arranged the sale of a 3,404-square-foot property at 959 Cauldwell Avenue in the Bronx. The property sold for $1,010,000, equating to $300 per square-foot.

The property, also known as 606 East 164th Street, currently hosts a single-story church in the Morrisania neighborhood. The building is situated on the corner of East 164th Street and Cauldwell Avenue, nearby numerous bus routes, the Melrose Metro-North stop and the Intervale Avenue subway station. Featuring 137 feet of wrap-around frontage, the property is additionally located directly across the street from Public School 146 and the Success Academy Charter School.

The property was sold to the Haitian Baptist Community Church. The seller, the Bronx Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Jonathan Squires, Michael Fioravanti, Josh Neustadter, Addison Berniker and Shayne Soltan.

The Cushman & Wakefield team was determined to sell the property to another religious institution or a not-for-profit occupier.
