CA Ventures Promotes John Diedrich to Global Head of Investments

The newly created position is expected to assist the firm in nearly tripling its portfolio value to $30 billion by 2024.

CHICAGO, IL – CA Ventures has promoted John Diedrich to global head of investments. In the newly created position, Diedrich will oversee all acquisition and development activity throughout the US, Europe and South America.

As global head of investments, Diedrich will focus on multifamily and student housing. In his expanded role, he will assist in streamlining new projects approvals, he will aim to establish further underwriting process consistency and he will work to expedite capital raises and project closings. Diedrich will oversee corporate revenue projections, direct balance sheet management and grow the firm’s alternative investment products and EB-5 business through CA Ventures Finance.

Diedrich joined CA Ventures more than a decade ago, in 2008, as a senior financial analyst, after receiving his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois. He was later promoted to executive vice president of investments at the firm.

Throughout his tenure at the firm, Diedrich has played a part in every deal that CA Ventures has executed. During this time, the firm’s portfolio valuation grew from $400 million to $10 billion. He has also been heavily involved in expanding the firm across asset classes and geographic markets, both domestically and internationally.

The firm intends to utilize Diedrich’s expertise in the role, aiming to nearly triple the value of its portfolio in the next five years, to $30 billion.
