SOUTH HACKENSACK, NJ—Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. has signed an industrial lease for 125,500 square feet at the newly constructed 400 Huyler St. here.

Cushman & Wakefield represented Goodwill Industries in the transaction with property owner Forsgate Industrial Partners.

The newly constructed, single-story warehouse property sits on six acres and will house a large Goodwill Outlet store, accommodating the organization’s e-commerce warehouse growth, according to Cushman & Wakefield’s top producing U.S. industrial broker, Charles Fern. Fern headed the assignment with Thomas D. Tucci, Jason Barton, Stephen Shoemaker, Thomas E. Tucci and Elizabeth Rouse.

The Goodwill Outlet in South Hackensack will sell goods by the pound. As the organization’s main Northern New Jersey operations facility, it also will operate Goodwill’s ecommerce division and sort goods for recycling. Donations of “previously loved” items will be accepted at this location, Cushman & Wakefield reports.

“This highly respected nonprofit, which has been serving our regional community for more than 100 years, needed a special building—one close to New York, offering highway visibility and providing a mix of warehouse and office space with the ability to accommodate an outlet store,” Fern says. “He notes that the 400 Huyler Street building will also provide Goodwill 12,000 square feet of mezzanine offices, as well as 40-foot clear ceiling heights.
