ATLANTA—A California-based development firm overseeing the multi-billion dollar repositioning of The Gulch will have a bird’s eye view of the project after signing a long-term lease agreement at 101 Marietta Street in Downtown Atlanta.

The Dilweg Cos. announced that CIM Group and nine other companies have signed new lease agreements or extensions at the iconic 36-story Downtown office tower known for its trademark chevron silhouette. CIM Group will occupy two of the new spec suites at 101 Marietta St. that overlook the firm’s future Centennial Yards mixed-use development in The Gulch. The new lease agreements represent over 45,000 square feet of new and expanded occupancy at the building.

Located just steps away from landmark destinations such as Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena, Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Aquarium and CNN Center, the iconic tower has capitalized on Downtown Atlanta’s renaissance by landing leasing agreements totaling 395,000 square feet since a $5 million repositioning project was completed two years ago, including 265,000 square feet of new leasing with tenants from a variety of sectors including tech, engineering, entertainment and professional services. The re-energized building offers new amenities, skyline views, connectivity and access to in-town destinations that attract top talent across metro Atlanta.

“We are thrilled to welcome this dynamic group of tenants to 101 Marietta St.,” said Jerry Banks, managing director at the Dilweg Cos. “With all five of the NELSON Worldwide-designed spec suites totaling 23,000 square feet now fully leased, we will proceed with design and construction for the next batch of spec suite offerings.”

Banks tells GlobeSt.com that the building is 82% leased. Construction for the next round of spec suites at 101 Marietta St. will commence in January. He says Dilweg plans to construct four new spec suite spaces in Q1 2020.

“101 Marietta St. aims to attract creative class tenants who are eager to surround themselves with other forward-thinking tenants,” Banks says. “These tenants are focused on how the building and surrounding area can enhance their company culture and business efficiencies.”
