In 2020, tenants willcontinue to demand amenities that focus on interactivity andcreating a general wow-factor. To create that wow-factor,Barry Caylor of construction companyOTL, says that developers should focus onimmersive amenities and sustainability.

"Interactivity is the key to today's wow factor amenities,"Caylor, VP of business development at OTL, tells GlobeSt.com."Consumers are well-informed, and more importantly, they areaccustomed to entertainment being available at their fingertipsthrough smart devices. Developers, in turn, are increasinglyraising the bar in order to deliver wow factor amenities that starta conversation and attract crowds."

First, Caylor says that developers should create an immersiveexperience that evokes emotion. "Integrating state-of-the-arteffects such as lighting, music and choreographed water movementsdelivers these items, as well as increased engagement and repeatvisitors," he says. This can include adaptable features, like watershows that are interactive during the day and a professionalentertainment show at night, driving consumer traffic.
