NEW YORK CITY- The New YorkBotanical Garden has partnered with Douglas Development toconstruct a two-building, 450-unit affordable housing developmentfor seniors and families. The property will sit on New YorkBotanical Garden-owned land for which Douglaston entered into a99-year lease through a competitive selectionprocess. 

Construction on the two-phaseproject is anticipated to begin this year. The first phase willinclude an estimated 188-units of affordable housing at 2856Webster Ave., available for candidates earning up to 50 percent ofthe area median income. The second phase of construction willinclude approximately 260 affordable rental units at 410 BedfordPark, available to candidates earning between 30 to 130 percent ofthe area median income.
