Landsea Homes Launches Program to Focus on Sustainability

The high performance homes program features homes with automation, sustainability and energy savings.

Landsea Homes has launched Live in Your Element with High Performance Homes Program, a new program to focus on sustainability. The program has three pillars: automation, sustainability and energy savings. Landsea is rolling out the program in select communities in California and Arizona.

“Sustainability has always been at the forefront of our business,” Mike Forsum, chief operating officer at Landsea Homes, tells GlobeSt.com. “Our industry-leading commitment to sustainability and deep respect for the shared environment of the communities we create are reflected in every Landsea home. We want homebuyers to connect seamlessly with their surroundings in innovative homes that showcase green living— effortlessly and beautifully.”

The new homes start with materials and efficient construction methods. “Our homes are built to respect the environments in which they are located,” says Forsum. “Environmentally conscious building materials and waste-reduction programs are designed to preserve and protect the beauty of our natural world, and lessen the impact on our planet for generations to come. Homebuyers will find our High Performance Homes to be more comfortable and healthier to live in, and less expensive to operate due to energy-efficient features.”

For the technology platform, Landsea is partnering with Apple, which it chose for its reputation in technology. “Privacy is of the utmost importance for our homeowners, and it’s one of Apple’s core values,” adds Forsum. “Apple products are designed to protect your privacy and give you control over your information. A person’s device is important to so many parts of life and this is why we trusted Apple to be our partner in carrying out the home automation features of the Landsea HPH Program.”

There is increased demand for sustainable and efficient homes, like this. “Homebuyers have come to expect eco-friendly features in their new homes. Today’s homebuyers also seek a balanced life through technology, the ability to stay connected, and the option to be in control all while maintaining a high level of privacy and security,” explains Forsum.

One reason is because buyers are seeing the benefits of energy efficiency, both in their personal lives and for their communities. As a result, Landsea is creating a competitive program for buyers looking to take advantage of those benefits. “The Landsea High Performance Home Program is setting the bar in the home-building industry for comfort, durability, indoor air quality, and lower energy use. Our program provides homebuyers with a three-tiered approach that includes home automation, sustainability and energy savings,” says Forsum.

By leveraging technology, the homes will also be convenient and secure as well as more cost effective. “Homebuyers will find that the home’s vital systems will cost less to operate,” says Forsum. “While many attributes of the home are aimed at reducing energy costs, these homes also provide a superior living environment and make for a sound investment. The home automation items of the program are built into the home for convenience. The day a person moves in, they will be living in a functioning smart home.”

In addition to building the home, Landsea will also teach homeowners how to use it. “Our goal is to give homeowners more flexible, smart home features that are upgraded with privacy and security in mind,” says Forsum. “Once a home is purchased, homeowners will receive hands-on training from an expert on all of the home automation features, who ensures that all applications are working properly.”
