Successful leaders throughout all industries often share similar qualities, such as ambition, people skills and financial prowess. There are countless aspects of leadership within business of which to define a great boss, whether it be through specific management styles, communication methods or ability to adapt to change.
Outstanding leaders are often self-aware, respectful individuals with exceptional interpersonal skills and a vast influence on their company. They portray an unassailable positive attitude towards work that is infectious to all. These highly-regard bosses typically embody their company’s culture; cultivating a pleasant work environment.
These particular professionals notably stand-out and positively effect change in the workplace through their receptiveness to listen and their willingness to assist those around them.
Not only do true leaders manifest themselves through performance and accomplishments, these individuals are genuinely admired and often identified as such through their employee’s personal opinions.
For GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum’s upcoming Leadership Issue, we are giving professionals a potential platform to share their thoughts on their talented supervisors. We are assembling testimonials, examples and anecdotes that best portray these leaders as inspirational, innovative, quality individuals, whom lead by example.
These are the one-in-a-million bosses who serve to advance their companies and whom others desire to work with and for. We are looking to celebrate impactful, executive-level professionals, whom hold a decision-making role within a commercial real estate company or within company’s commercial real estate-focused division.

What information/data will I need to apply/?
The complete nomination form, including all questions and word limits, is available for download here. Please note that this is for preparation purposes only. The final nomination must be submitted online in the Nominate Now section.
Who may apply?
This series is open to any executive-level professional (from management to C-suite) who leads, and has a significant decision-making role within a commercial real estate company, a commercial real estate-focused division of a larger company, or a major division within a larger commercial real estate company. If a company’s leadership is split between two executives, you may nominate them as a team. The information provided in the Testimonials section of the entry form will be a major factor in determining the overall winner.
Can I nominate myself?
Yes. We accept self nominations as well as third-party submissions.
I was selected as a Best Boss last year. Can I apply again this year?
To avoid redundancy, we try to vary the winners we profile year to year. However, this is limited to the type of nomination you are submitting. For instance, if you were selected as a leadership team, you may be nominated again as an individual. Conversely, if you were selected as an individual last year, you may be nominated as part of a team. In either case, the information submitted as part of your nomination must include updated details and not mirror the prior year’s nomination.

How and when will winners be notified?
Editorial staff will send email notifications to the winners and submitters by the end of March. Due to the high volume of nominations we receive, only those selected will be notified.
When will the issue come out?
GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum will profile the Best Bosses series in the June 2020 issue, which will be distributed in early June/July. Those chosen will also gain recognition on GlobeSt.com.
Is there a fee to apply?
No. Submission to this, and all of our editorial content, is free.
How do I increase my chances of being selected?
Be as descriptive, yet concise as possible. Sounds redundant, but it’s simple. Provide details on why you think your entry should be chosen, but leave out the fluff, like marketing content and self-congratulatory comments. We don’t mind reading long entries, but don’t hide the items of importance within pages of trivialities. Further, support your entry and statements with backup information – we love facts and figures.
