Manolo Blahnik Splashes On Madison Avenue, Opening Flagship Store
Manolo Blahnik has entered a lease agreement for its new flagship store on 717 Madison Ave. in Midtown. Newmark Knight Frank brokered the transaction for the store set to open in 2020.
NEW YORK CITY- Manolo Blahnik has entered a lease agreement for its new flagship store on 717 Madison Ave. in Midtown. Newmark Knight Frank brokered the transaction for the store set to open in 2020.
The new location is comprised of both office and retail spaces that include the ground and lower levels, totaling 4,942 square feet of retail space and floors 2-4 total 5,005 square feet of office space.
For the first time in New York City, Manolo Blahnik will have a store that comprises both men’s and women’s footwear. The expansion is the latest effort by Manolo Blahnik to make investments in U.S. talent and infrastructure as the retailer prepares to bring its North American business in-house.
Architect David Thomas of David Thomas Design in collaboration with Manolo Blahnik and Kristina Blahnik, Group CEO will design the double-fronted store. Thomas specializes in international luxury retail design for high-end brands and private clients and was key in the design of the Manolo Blahnik standalone boutique in the Palais-Royal in Paris, which opened in June 2019.
