Clear Creek Tahoe is breaking ground on its latest phase. The residential community, which is located on 2,100 acres near Carson Range in Tahoe, is beginning construction on its clubhouse amenity, which will include a fitness and wellness center. Despite the recent coronavirus pandemic, the developer Castle Hill Partners isn’t concerned about completing construction or sales.

Like the entire property, which includes 391 homes and golf experience, the Summit Camp, restaurants, a lake and a ski house, the new clubhouse amenities will encompass the development’s long-time vision. “Our vision has remained the same—to create lifetime memories for our members and their families,” says Leisha Ehlert, VP of asset management and development for Castle Hill Partners.

The first residents began to move into the project back in 2017, and the recent coronavirus pandemic hasn’t hampered sales. “Clear Creek’s real estate remains busy with the majority of recent tours done virtually,” says Ehlert. “New lots and homes are being placed or remain in escrow. Closings continue with four lots recently closed and an additional 5 lot closings anticipated in the coming weeks. Residential Design Review has also been busy with new submittals and pre-design and construction meetings performed electronically through Zoom and Go Meeting.”

In addition, the developer isn’t concerned about social distancing restrictions hampering their constriction timeline. Much of the initial work was done before the pandemic. “Clubhouse construction made steady progress during the winter. Site work is substantially complete, underground utilities are being installed and foundation work will commence this week,” says Ehlert. “Construction is currently included in the definition of “essential services” and we are fortunate that we can continue advancing the Clubhouse infrastructure during this time. We remain on schedule today, but changes to this definition or impositions of new federal, state or local mandates could obviously affect our construction schedule.”

Still, the developer is closely following the spread of the pandemic to ensure than it is following national and state protocols. “Our Team has been following strict protocols to keep everything clean and sanitized for everyone’s safety in order to continue these services,” says Ehlert. “We recently welcomed three new team members to enhance our club operations and strengthen our current team and are also excited to roll out our programming for the summer and fall seasons once we better understand how guidelines under C-19 will impact future operations.”

As for the onsite amenities, the community has made adjustments quickly. “Our priority at Clear Creek is the health and safety of our employees and Members as we are facing one of the greatest public health threats in over a century with spread of the coronavirus,” says Ehlert. “The Clear Creek Team is diligently preparing the Golf Course and Club for our Members arrivals under the current restrictions. In the meantime, Clear Creek is open 7 days a week and the Grille is providing curbside pickup for F&B and limited household items. The Fairway Cabins are also open for Member use, and pets are now welcomed to accompany them in our designated pet-friendly cabin.”
