HPM recently announced the hiring of industry veteran Bruce Quisno as the company’s newest senior program development manager, positioning the fast-growing firm for expansion in new markets while also bolstering its capabilities in planning and design management. In his new role, Quisno will provide strategic leadership and direction for new and developing client engagements while serving as a key component between business development and the operational phases of an assignment.

A registered architect with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) with more than 35 years of experience in design and construction, Quisno has assembled winning teams on major corporate capital programs across the US totaling more than 40 million square feet, according to HPM. Much of that success occurred during Quisno’s two-decade career as vice president of construction at Macy’s, where he managed projects for Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s Southeast, South Central and Midwest regions. Some of his notable achievements included leading design and construction efforts for new stores in both Hawaii (Bloomingdale’s) and Puerto Rico (Macy’s), as well as supervising the design and construction of a 2.2 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

“Historically HPM began its work in the higher education and K-12 markets, and the experience our company has gained in managing capital programs for campus environments has translated well into other sectors,” Quisno tells GlobeSt.com. ‘Some of the markets we’ve recently permeated include corporate campuses, healthcare systems, senior living facilities and multipurpose sports and entertainment venues.”

Quisno most recently served as vice president of retail at CR architecture + design in Cincinnati, where he directed strategy and execution for the firm’s national retail teams. In addition to his extensive client-side experience, Quisno is also recognized within the industry for his contributions as an Advisory Board member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), which included serving as past chairman for the 2011 ICSC CenterBuild Conference in Arizona.

“I’m just getting started at HPM but am already finding that many of our current projects incorporate elements of retail,” Quisno says. “My background and expertise will allow us to fine-tune and sharpen our recommendations in those areas as we continue to develop new avenues for adding value with our clients. I’m currently drawing on my retail and hospitality work for a few sports and entertainment projects we’re handling, and also expect to become more involved in K-12, corporate, airport and healthcare projects as we move forward.”
