CBRE Appoints Army Veteran to Multifamily Capital Markets Group

Further expanding its greater Philadelphia multifamily capital markets team, CBRE has hired Brad Megay to serve as an associate.

PHILADEPHIA – CBRE has hired Army Ranger Veteran, Brad Megay as an associate within its multifamily capital markets group.

The group has consistently expanded in recent years with multiple new hires.

In his new role, Megay will join the firm’s multifamily capital markets team comprising Spencer Yablon, John McFadden, Robert Miller, Sam Zell, Michael Jahnle and Samantha Kupersmith within CBRE’s Philadelphia-area offices.

In 2019, CBRE’s greater Philadelphia multifamily capital markets team sold 7,229 apartment units, totaling nearly $1.4 billion in sales, including two large portfolio transactions on behalf of Lone Star Funds. The team currently has 13 listings valued at $132 million and nine properties under agreement, valuing $130 million.

Megay previously served in the United States Army as an infantry officer for six years with the 101st Airborne division and the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. During his time with the Army, Megay deployed to Afghanistan twice for a total of 14 months, and separated from the Army as a Captain. Prior to serving in the Army, Megay received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology in 2013 from Princeton University, where he attended as a student and a four-year member of the varsity football team.

“During my transition out of the Army, my goal was to find a team that embraced the principles that I value the most: leadership, hard work and dedication to excellence,” said Megay. “I knew I had found that as soon as I began communicating with Spencer (Yablon) and the multifamily capital markets group. I am extremely excited to join the CBRE team.”

“We’re thrilled to have Brad join our team,” stated Yablon. “His experience as a student-athlete at Princeton and as an officer in the Army demonstrates tremendous leadership skills. Once we met with Brad, our team came to a quick consensus that we needed to bring him on-board and we’re confident that he will hit the ground running.”

Yablon added, “In order to cover the greater Philadelphia market and offer a high-level of service and attention to our clients, we made the strategic decision to aggressively grow our team. We’ve been fortunate to find several very talented people.”
