CHIGAGO, IL – JLL Capital Markets has appointed Mark Stern as managing director of the firm's Chicago office.

In his new role, Stern will focus on investment advisory transactions throughout the Midwest, while working to grow the firm's Midwest multi-housing team.

"We are excited to welcome Mark to our Midwest multi-housing team," states Matthew Lawton, JLL Capital Markets' executive managing director. "He brings a deep knowledge base to our existing team and will be a critical component to the continued growth of our already dominant market share."

Stern joins JLL with more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to JLL, Stern led the real estate acquisitions team at a private investment advisory. He additionally previously led numerous teams as SVP of acquisitions at the real estate investing and property management company, Waterton.

Throughout his industry career, Stern has sourced extensive acquisitions, while personally involved in securing more than $2 billion in acquisitions.

Stern actively serves ULI's multifamily green council as membership chair. He received his bachelor's degree in political economy at The Colorado College.
