WASHINGTON DC – Community Three and Rooney Properties have broken ground on Washington DC's first modular apartment building, Modo.

For the multifamily project, 44 custom-designed modular boxes have been lifted into place by a crane, after being shipped from Pennsylvania. The boxes encompass 16 of Modo's 17 three-bedroom apartments.

Each three-bedroom apartment will feature built-in custom closets, shelving and desks, as well as a pre-installed jumbo flat-screen television.
