Hudson Gateway Assoc. of Realtors Merger Expands Bronx Membership

The association has merged with the Bronx-Manhattan North Assoc. of Realtors, resulting in a new HGAR Bronx chapter of nearly 1,5000 members.

NEW YORK CITY – The Hudson Gateway Assoc. of Realtors has merged with the Bronx-Manhattan North Assoc. of Realtors. As a result of the merger, HGAR has created a Bronx chapter.

HGAR will now have nearly 1,500 members in the Bronx.

HGAR Bronx realtor members are able to participate in OneKey MLS, which was created by HGAR and the Long Island Board of Realtors as the first regional MLS in the New York metropolitan area. OneKey MLS currently has 42,000 subscribers.

BMNAR CEO, Eliezer Rodriguez has joined HGAR to serve as its director of advocacy, commercial and legislative issues for Bronx and Manhattan. Within the new role, Rodriguez will assist with the expanded organization’s legislative advocacy agenda. He will additionally assist the association in developing a stronger commercial and investment division.

BMNAR’s 2020 president, Vincent Buccieri will now serve on HGAR’s board of directors as the Bronx regional director.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome the Bronx to HGAR and look forward to expanding our presence there,” says Richard Haggerty, HGAR’s CEO and OneKey MLS’ president and chief strategic growth officer. “With its proximity to the Lower Hudson Valley, this is a natural step that will greatly benefit all of our members.”

Rodriguez continues, “We had been talking about this for a while, and it’s in the best interest of both the Bronx and the Hudson Valley. We can offer a lot of great political connections and expertise in the commercial real estate sector, and we will benefit by being able to provide all of our Bronx members with the resources that a larger organization can provide.”

The merger was announced at a press conference on September 30.

At the press conference, Councilman Fernando Cabrera of District 14 stated, “This is a new beginning for all of you. Home ownership is such an important issue, especially here in the Bronx. With this merger, and the OneKey MLS expansion, you’re going to be able to go to another level. The greater days of the Bronx are yet to come and you’re going to be part of that.”
