Volkswagen Selects Reston, VA for its North American Headquarters

The company has leased 196,000 square feet of space at Boston Properties’ 1.1-million-square foot-development within Reston Town Center.

RESTON, VA – Volkswagen Group of America Inc. has signed a new, 20-year lease agreement, encompassing 196,000 square feet of space at Boston Properties Inc.’s new development in the next phase of Reston Town Center in Reston, VA.

With the leased space, Volkswagen Group of America will serve as an anchor tenant for Boston Properties’ 1.1-million-square foot-development. The project is currently 85% leased.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s Greg Lubar and Steve Spartin represented Volkswagen Group of America in securing the lease for its new North American headquarters.

The urban center is currently home to more than three million square feet of class A office space, more than 50 retailers, 30 restaurants and 2,000 residential homes.

Reston Town Center’s extension includes retail space, open public space, a hotel, residential buildings and the two tower, 1.1-million-square-foot office development, previously known as Reston Next. Once fully completed, the extension will add more than 4.4 million square feet to Reston Town Center.
