It’s Official: Dallas is CBRE’s New Headquarters

CBRE has designated Dallas as its global headquarters city in a location at 2100 McKinney Ave., which is the central operating center for CBRE, housing its largest US-based workforce and many of its senior executives.

DALLAS—CBRE has designated Dallas as its global headquarters city, in an announcement confirmed to GlobeSt.com. The location at 2100 McKinney Ave. in Uptown Dallas is the central operating center for CBRE, housing its largest US-based workforce including many of its senior executives.

“We are excited to call Dallas our headquarters city. This formalizes the way we have operated for many years. We have grown our employment base in the Dallas area significantly and expect to continue to increase it over time,” a CBRE spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com. “However, we will not be relocating jobs from California as a result of designating Dallas as our headquarters city. Only an extremely small number of operations-related roles will migrate from California over time. We also remain committed to building on our leadership position in California.”

CBRE has had a Los Angeles headquarters presence for many years, with its previous global HQ office located on the top two floors of 400 S. Hope St.

“We have more than 5,000 employees in California and only an extremely small number of operations-related roles are expected to migrate over time to Dallas,” says Lew  Horne, president, advisory services, Pacific Southwest, CBRE. “No client-facing roles will be affected, so California clients will continue to receive the same high level of service they expect from CBRE. As the industry leader in California and a major employer, we remain firmly committed to supporting the regional business climate and will continue to be highly active in various local civic and charitable initiatives.”

CBRE tells GlobeSt.com it will also be expanding its footprint at Galatyn Commons located at 2375 North Glenville Dr. in Richardson, TX. This will serve as the main location for its Dallas-based corporate functions (digital and technology, people, supply chain/procurement and some finance teams). In total, CBRE will eventually occupy the entire Building A at Galatyn Commons, spanning four floors (from the second to fifth) and approximately 131,000 square feet.

“We will occupy in phases over the next two years, beginning with our digital and technology employees in mid-2021,” a CBRE spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com. “We have had some digital and technology staff working from this location since 2018. This creates a campus environment with modern state-of-the-art office space designed with the specific needs of our functional employees in mind.”
