Dutch Regulated Crowdfunding Platform Funds First Two Projects

Max Crowdfund, the first regulated blockchain-powered crowdfunding platform, has funded its first two real estate projects, totaling 694,000 Euros, within a month of becoming operational.

NETHERLANDS – The first regulated crowdfunding platform using blockchain technology, Max Crowdfund has funded its first two real estate projects in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, totaling 694,000 Euros.

The international real estate crowdfunding platform, Max Crowdfund, developed by Max Property Group two years ago, achieved regulation by the Dutch Financial authorities in August 2020; becoming the first blockchain-powered real estate crowdfunding platform with financial authority approval.

The platform launched its first two asset-backed loans, with interest rates of 8%, for the two real estate projects, earlier in October. Both loans were fully subscribed within the first month of the platform becoming fully operational.

“Max Crowdfund delivered funding for our project in the United Kingdom, which is unfortunately becoming harder and harder using established banks,” states Daniel Wood of the Swedish Wealth Institute. “We will definitely be placing more of our projects on Max Crowdfund in the very near future.”

Max Crowdfund intends to list more investment opportunities, backed by German and Dutch properties, in November and December of this year.

The European Union approved new rules affecting pan-European crowdfunding platforms on October 5 of this year. The rules allow licensed platforms to operate in all European countries and allow all European citizens to invest via one platform; in turn raising the amount of projects that can be funded and increasing the number of the number of potential investors that can be attracted.

The new ruling allows crowdfunding platforms in the European Union to comply with a single set of rules, rather than needing to adhere to differing regulations in each country.

The new rules additionally increase the maximum amount allowed to be raised for a single project from 2.5 million Euros to five million Euros.
