Boston Properties to Transition DC Leadership

The company’s Peter Otteni and Jake Stroman have been appointed to succeed Peter Johnston as the co-heads of the company’s Washington DC office.

WASHINGTON DC – Boston Properties Inc.’s Peter Johnston is retiring from his position as EVP of the firm’s Washington DC office in May 2021, after more than 33 years of service.

Peter Otteni and Jake Stroman have been appointed to succeed Peter Johnston as co-heads of the company’s Washington DC office, effective May 15, 2021. Within their new positions as co-heads, the two professionals will together lead the company’s business activities in the region.

Currently serving as SVP of development and SVP of leasing, Pete Otteni and Jake Stroman, respectively, will maintain their roles as department heads.

Boston Properties Inc.’s Ray Ritchey will continue to serve in his position as senior EVP in the Washington DC region, where he coordinates the firm’s national leasing teams and business development activities in new regions.

Upon joining Boston Properties Inc. in 1999, Otteni worked through the firm’s development department before assuming his current role as SVP and of head of development in 2016. Throughout his career at the company, Otteni has been responsible for more than four million square feet of development within Washington DC, Norther Virginia and Maryland.

Joining the firm in 2004, Stroman additionally worked through Boston Properties Inc.’s development department before assuming the role of VP in 2011, prior to transitioning to head of leasing in 2019, and be SVP in 2020. While serving at Boston Properties Inc., Stroman has continually led high-profile projects and managed key customer relationships.
