Industry Veteran Launches Virtual Global CRE Networking Platform

Jonathan Schein has launched the Real Estate Limited Partner Institute to connect industry stakeholders via virtual meeting technology.

NEW YORK—Institutional investment and commercial real estate media veteran Jonathan Schein has launched the Real Estate Limited Partner Institute, a platform that uses virtual meeting technology to connect institutional investors with asset managers and operating companies on a local, national and global scale.

“Access is key to meeting and exceeding fundraising goals, and the Real Estate Limited Partner Institute is providing that access in a reliable, efficient, affordable manner with many options for engagement,” states Schein, RELPI’s chief executive and executive director. “The last year revealed the adaptability of our industry and the ease and enthusiasm with which virtual meeting platforms were adopted. Meetings—especially early introductions among managers, operating companies and investors—are going to take place online and RELPI is going to be a vital facilitator and connector.”

RELPI has secured nearly 60 organizations as members of the platform, spanning investors, fund managers, consultants, operating companies and advisory firms. The organizations that have signed up include ACORE Capital, Drake Real Estate Partners, GCM Grosvenor, Hines, Praedium Group, Accordia Realty Ventures, Outshine Properties and the Law Firm of CSG PC.

In effort to link asset managers with investors in curated, targeted gatherings, RELPI will offer numerous options to its members, including peer-to-peer roundtables or “virtual salons” that will focus on pressing issues.

RELPI will additionally organize virtual global summits, allowing members to reach new sources of capital investment from markets, such as Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and the Middle East, in face-to-face roundtables.

“’Interests aligned’ is more than a tagline for us,” states Schein. “We are creating an ecosystem of best-in-class organizations and individuals devoted to the best practices in real estate asset allocation and investment for pension funds, endowments, foundations, asset managers and family offices.”

RELPI will also offer networking programs that are specifically designed to support small and emerging managers. The customized programs will assist managers in raising their visibility and connecting with investors.

Schein most recently served as the global head of business development at Institutional Real Estate Inc. He previously founded GlobeSt.com and created RealShare Conferences.
