Skanska to Break Ground on Seattle-Area Office Tower

The 540,000-SF, class A office tower, The Eight, represents Bellevue, WA’s first speculative office building development within the past six years.

BELLEVUE, WA – Skanska is set to break ground on its newest project, an office building titled The Eight, next month in Bellevue, WA. The project represents the city’s first speculative office building development within the past six years.

The 25-floor, class A office tower will comprise 540,000 square feet. The Eight will feature 7,000 square feet of open public space, 12,000 square feet of ground floor retail space and an additional 1,200-square-foot retail pavilion.

Located on the corner of 8th St. and 108th Ave. NE, the property is designed with a side core that allows for large, flexible floor plates. The tower will also feature seven alternating indoor/outdoor exterior balconies.

The property serves as Skanska’s sixth development project within the Puget Sound region and its second project within the city of Bellevue, since the company launched development operations in 2011.

“The Eight is designed for companies interested in leveraging their brand to grow, expand and attract the country’s top talent,” states Murphy McCullough, EVP of Skanska USA commercial development’s Seattle market. “Skanska is focused on delivering an incredible building for Bellevue with amenities our tenants and community desire most – one that is focused on health & wellness from the ground floor to the top of the tower.”
