Women Have More Opportunities Than Ever Before

Vicky Schiff of Mosaic Real Estate Investment will reflect on the impacts from the pandemic as the keynote speaker at the GlobeSt. Elite Women of Influence conference in July.

At the GlobeSt. Elite Women of Influence event in July, Vicky Schiff of Mosaic Real Estate Investment will offer the keynote speech to reflect on the turbulent year past. In Keynote: A 360 View: Impacts From A Disruptive Year, Schiff will uncover how women have coped during the pandemic. The good news: pretty well. The pandemic has highlighted the grave need for diversity in the industry, opening opportunities for career development.

“Everyone I have spoken to both in and out of the industry has reflected on their personal journey in some way.  I’ve seen lots of people quit their jobs, move companies and relocate,” Schiff, a managing partner at Mosaic Realty, tells GlobeSt.com. “Women have realized that they need to be intentional about their careers, their families and their life in general.  Women have more opportunities now than ever before because companies, especially in real estate investment and finance, need to become more diverse with smart, qualified talent.”

For women who are experiencing this event as their first downturn, Schiff says that there is a lot to learn. She advises women to take this moment to learn new skills, create relationships and work with mentors. “You will come out of adversity wiser and more valuable in your industry,” says Schiff. “Build savings and invest conservatively on a personal level through every cycle, no matter what. Compounding interest is magical tool.”

The good news: the recovery is already starting. Schiff has recognized the early signs, like increased travel, booked hotels and increased home sales. Investment activity is already following the trend. “Investors have gone headfirst into SPACs without target companies and in May, the CEO of LVMH has become the wealthiest person on earth,” says Schiff. “I started my career in the late 1980s and have seen multiple cycles, which were always caused by different factors but I saw that the sun always sets after it rises and vice versa.” As the recovery unfolds, Schiff says to watch prices, inflation and interest rates, all of which can impact asset pricing.

Schiff’s keynote speech will kick off what she describes as a conference for fantastic, brilliant and accomplished women. Her favorite detail of the two day event: it will be in person.
