CBRE has advised on the most small property sales so far this year, and was responsible for $4.75 billion of trades, according to a new report from Green Street breaking down survey data from Real Estate Alert.

The firm is poised to retain the top spot in the annual rankings with a deal volume that's up 23.1% year over year and accounts for a market share of 19.3%. CBRE also handled the most sales in the office, industrial and hotel sectors. But JLL's office deal volume jumped 147.4% — the largest increase among major brokerages, according to REA.

It is followed in the rankings by Cushman & Wakefield, which handled $3.78 billion in sales for a market share of 15.3%, and JLL, which handled $3.18 billion and holds a market share of 12.9%.

Marcus & Millichap, Colliers, and Newmark rounded out the next three spots.

JLL was responsible for the most retail property sales, and Marcus & Millichap came out on top for apartment sales.

The Real Estate Alert broker rankings for deals between $5 and $25 million are based on transactions in the REA newsletter's Deal Database that closed in the first half of 2021.  The Deal Database includes more than 12,200 deals in the value range.
