The past twelve months have not been pretty for arrangers of commercial real estate debt, equity and finance.

The Fed’s steady increase of interest rates have taken a toll on the cost of debt, and tightening lending standards have made a difficult job all the harder. Granted, being a rainmaker is not as difficult as it was in the years of the Great Recession, but closing deals has become distinctly more difficult compared to even a year ago.
