HUD's Julia Gordon Calls for Boost in Housing Supply and Quality

SAN DIEGO—“We want to see an increase in the supply of housing and we want to see better housing,” stated the Honorable Julia Gordon, Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, during the opening session of the recent MBA CREF24 conference held here in San Diego.

Gordon provided an overview of HUD’s overarching mission, highlighting their focus over the past year on finalizing policies and executing them. “We’ve expanded the loan limit and removed the dollar cap on LIHTC loans. Additionally, on the healthcare side, we’ve issued a set of new documents pertaining to both residential care and hospitals,” she said.
