This City Remains Popular With Renters

Views for apartments in Minneapolis in February soared by 234% compared to February last year.

Many renters continue to check out the Minneapolis apartment market, according to the latest monthly report from Yardi’s RentCafe.

Holding the coveted top spot, views for apartments in Minneapolis soared by an impressive 234% compared to February last year, RentCafe reported. It is the market’s third consecutive month in the top spot.

This surge in online engagement is reflected in a 22% year-over-year decrease in available apartment listings on RentCafe.com compared to one year prior, which helped propel the city straight to the top of our list.

Each city is assigned a score that considers the availability of apartments, listing views, apartments saved as favorites, and personalized searches on the RentCafe site.

Atlanta ranked No. 2 after it switched places with Queens, NY, compared to last month. RentCafe attributed Atlanta’s performance, in part, to renter interest — especially from those in Orlando, New York, and Chicago.

Queens saw a remarkable 317% surge in page views amid a 22% decrease in apartment availability on RentCafe.com, indicating a tightening market.

Little Rock was one of the fastest movers, climbing 90 positions to settle just outside the top 10.

Regionally, the West continues to lead in the top 30 with 10 entries, while the South is making strides by holding nine positions. The Midwest has eight cities, and the Northeast has three spots.
