NAPLES, FL-Kite Realty's recent announcement that it had acquired three shopping centers in Naples, FL, is just one salvo in a full-fledged battle to expand its presence throughout the state. Indianapolis-based Kite now owns six neighborhood centers in the Naples area, and is building two more. And that's just the beginning. Kite's Florida expansion plans, however, extend well beyond Naples. Kite Realty has been developing and acquiring in Florida for a decade.

INDIANAPOLIS-The REIT is in negotiations to form a JV to fund $1.25 billion in expansion.

TAMPA-The Parksite Group leases industrial space in a building to be constructed off Madison Avenue and US Highway 41 in the Riverview area. The building is expected to be completed by mid-2007.

TAMPA, FL-Liberty Property Trust acquires 65 acres of land in Legacy Park off US Highway 301. It plans to build four speculative office buildings with a total of 400,000 sf.
