FORT MYERS, FL-The Florida Forever Acquisition and Restoration Council has recommended the state purchase 10,000 acres of the Babcock Ranch and place another 34,000 acres under an environmental easement that would prevent future development. In return, the Babcock family would be allowed to develop 20,000 acres. Gov. Jeb Bush and the Florida Cabinet rule on the plan Jan. 29.

SAN FERNANDO, CA-Acey Decy, which services the entertainment industry, buys a 58,000-sf industrial building here and will move its 40 workers from North Hollywood next month. The deal reflects a growing appetite for space-users in the area to own rather than rent.

DETROIT-The smaller of the two grants, $150,000, helps the local Port Authority conduct environmental investigation and limited remedial activities on 35 acres along the Detroit River on West Jefferson Avenue.

NEW YORK CITY-The Manhattan-based REIT and the New York State Common Retirement Fund expand their joint venture, adding $50 million and $150 million, respectively, for the acquisition of an additional $560 million in net-leased office and industrial properties.

ANAHEIM, CA-Separate buyers acquire all six buildings in the development company's recently converted Lakeview Business Park. The 165,000-sf complex is the former home of a packing plant.

SANTA ANA, CA-Marlin-Davidson sells a 39,089-sf Santa Ana building to an appliance company. Both buyer and seller will continue to occupy the facility.
