McLEAN, VA–More Freddie Mac research onthe state of affordable housing in the US showsthat a large number of renters view renting as an option that fitstheir lifestyle and is a strategic choice at many life stages. Morerenters believe this despite their view that housing prices — bothto purchase and rent — continue to rise and supply continues totighten. The study also finds that an increasing number ofAmerica's renters are satisfied with their living situation andconsider it the most affordable option for the foreseeablefuture.

Changing attitudes toward renting, in short, are playing asignificant role in the growing demand for rental housing.
