Washington Hotel LLC partners' Craig Shafer and Alan Battersbyare now looking at what improvements can be made to the building.Starwood completed $5 million of renovations of the art deco hotel,formerly known as the Meany Tower, in 1997.

The sale of the Edmond Meany is part of Starwood's strategy ofdivesting hotels that do not fall in line with its business plan.The White Plains, NY, company owns and manages hotels under brandssuch as Westin, Sheraton, Hotel W and St. Regis, and is DowntownSeattle's biggest hotel operator.
