The building's height is matched by the asking prices, whichrange from over $1.2 million to more than $13 million, excludingone apartment that sold for $38 million, a world record. Among theamenities are a 60-ft swimming pool, private spa and health cluband a private wine cellar.
Some community residents complained that the $400-millionbuilding, which dwarfs the United Nations nearby, was too tall forthe neighborhood. Occupancy of its 376 units, 65% of which aresold, is slated for spring 2001. The architect is Costas Kondylis& Assoc.
