The newest project is Courtyard Marriott, a four-story,181-room, $20 million asset being built atop South Tryon Square's10-story parking deck at Third and Tryon Streets. Miller BuildingCorp. of Wilmington, NC is the contractor.
Marriott is also shooting for a first quarter 2001 opening onits 150-room, 11-story Residence Inn by Marriott. Marriott CityCenter, operating at The Square, gives the Washington, D.C.-basedchain three uptown affiliates.
Another developer, Panos Hotel Group, is completing a total 360rooms at a Hampton Inn, HIlton Garden and Panos Suites.
