Cooley Godward LLP, one of Silicon Valley’s hottest law firms, is leasing 75,000 sf in the hottest office campus between Boulder and Denver.

The law firm, with 115 employees, including 61 attorneys, in Colorado will take the top three floors of a 10-story office building that is under construction at 380 Amber Dr. in the Interlocken Advanced Technology Environment Business Park along the US 36 corridor, about 10 miles outside of Boulder.

The law firm, which has 580 attorneys nationwide, currently leases 24,000 sf in Boulder, where it has had a presence since 1993. When it moves in early January, it will vacate its Boulder office, but will retain a subsidiary office in the Tabor Center in downtown Denver, said Michael Platt, a business partner at the law firm.

“This is our version of convergence,” Platt told GlobeSt.com. ”We’re bringing our attorneys and staff together in a location that is convenient for access to clients in all directions.”

The law firm specializes in intellectual property, patents, trademark, licensing/information technology, employment, benefits, compensation and taxation.

“This is prime real estate in the ‘Convergence Corridor,’ so it meets our need for both top-quality office space and regional integration with our clients and other technology leaders,” said Jim Linfield, partner-in-charge of the Colorado operation.

Denver-based PrimeWest, which is headed by Stephen Clarke, is developing the building. One of the law firm’s clients is Softbank Venture Capital, one of the world’s best-known venture capital firms. ”Cooley is an outstanding firm, and as a result I’m very pleased to see this move and their explosive growth,” said Bradley Feld, a managing director of Softbank Venture, who lives in Nederland, CO, just outside of Boulder. ”Their knowledge of the technology, entrepreneurial and venture communities is unsurpassed, making them a great partner in Colorado. Interlocken is a great location for a leader like Cooley.”

In addition to California and Colorado, Cooley Godward also has offices in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
