De Anza Corp. wants to build the De Anza Harbor Resort, aproject that would include the expansion of an existing golf courseand sports field at the site as well as a new park. De Anzaofficials presented the project during a workshop of the San DiegoPlanning Commission.
However, the hotel couldn't be built for quite awhile. That'sbecause a 500-unit mobile-home park currently occupies theland.
Several hundred residents of the mobile home park attended theplanning commission's workshop and pleaded that their park bespared. However, a city law passed nearly two decades ago requiresthat the homes must be removed by November 2003.
