A spokeswoman for the locally-based clothier claimed noknowledge of the process, but more than one local broker says thecompany is looking for 150,000 sf initially - with room to as muchas double in coming years - and has short-listed a half dozensites. Columbia's current headquarters are located at 6600 N.Baltimore.

One of those sites is rumored to be Consolidated Freightways'Leland James Center, a Portland office complex built in the late1980s at 1621 NW 21st Ave. Consolidated is selling the propertyalong with its Menlo Park, Calif., headqaurters and centralizingoperations in Vancouver, Wash. The 12-acre Leland James developmenthas 342,662 square feet of space and is listed for $28.5million.
