Locally based Cushman & Wakefield Inc. will now be managing the facilities management duties for Lucent technology in the UK and the Netherlands. The newly inked agreement encompasses 51 properties and some 2.2 million sf of space.

According to C&W chief Arthur Mirante, the deal is a major expansion of the real estate firm’s existing relationship with Lucent, which to date has encompassed international brokerage. C&W will provide Lucent with facility management, accounting and project management services.

The portfolio will be managed from C&W’s London office. Michael Swanstrom, managing director of asset services, will oversee the account.
