Home Depots new stores will be in Northeast and east Portland,southern Beaverton, Oregon City, Sherwood and Troutdale. Lowe's newstores will be in Tigard and Wood Village. Both companies' storestypically exceed 100,000 sf.

Home Depot is building one of its first stores with rooftopparking on a four-acre parcel in Northeast Portland's HollywoodDistrict for which it signed a 20-year lease. It will replace theDavis Business Center, forcing 90 businesses somewhere else. OwnerAndy Davis notified tenants at the first of the month, telling themthey can remain until 2002.

Only one of the six Home Depot stores - the one in Troutdale -is under construction. Municipal approvals are still being soughtfor the rest.
