Shook, Hardy & Bacon, Kansas City's largest law firm, ispenciled in as the office tower's anchor tenant, occupying 410,000sf (16 floors)in the building. The law firm has more than 1,000employees and currently has offices inthree downtown buildings. InApril, the law firm announced that it would move from One KansasCityPlace when its lease expires in February 2004.

Groundbreaking on the new site is scheduled for the firstquarter of2001 and construction should be complete by the fourthquarter of 2003. J.E. Dunn Construction will serve as the project'sgeneral contractor.

The Zimmer Cos. Crown Center is financing the project. Estimatesput the project at a cost of more than $100 million, and CrownCenter will receive tax abatements under Missouri's Chapter 353redevelopment law and will not pay property tax on theproperty for10 years after development starts and will receive a 50% taxabatement for 15 years thereafter.
