Central Florida firms did six deals valued at $67.3 million.South Florida companies completed 12 transactions worth $136.2million. The quarterly survey was completed byPricewaterhouseCoopers.

Tantivy's funding came from Novak Biddle Venture Partners, ChaseCapital Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners, New EnterpriseAssociates, Venrock Associates, Intel, Bowman Capital, MorganStanley Dean Witter Venture Partners, Westway Capital, RedbackNetworks and Wheatley Partners.

In the other five deals, Digital Owl, a Winter Park webpublishing systems firm, picked up $500,000 from Draper Atlanticand other investors.
