Denise Knobblock, Compuware's executive vice president of humanresources-administration, says the company had to reschedule itsJuly 1 start date to Sept. 15.She also told GlobeSt.com that thebuilding interior had to be changed after a second look at theplanned occupancy. The $550 million, 16-story headquarters is goingup in the redesigned Campus Martius complex in downtownDetroit.

"We revisited the figures and decided we needed to change thedesign to accommodate more employees," Knobblock explains.Phase 1of the move was supposed to move 3,000 employees from FarmingtonHills to the new building. The figure has now been revised up to3,600.

The building is expected to be completed by June 2002. Phase 2will move another 1,500 employees to the building a few yearsafter, Knobblock says. REDICO is also building a $250 millionoffice building near the new General Motors Corp. globalheadquarters in Detroit. That facility will house 3,000 of itshealth-care employees.
