Eel River Racing, now based in Lakeside Business Park nearMooresville, will move to Talbert Pointe once its 70,000-sfbuilding is complete, according to vice president Bob Murphy. Theracing team currently has 40 employees and plans to more thandouble employment to 100 by next year, Murphy says.
While other regional counties have tried luring the team out ofIredell County, Mooresville city council has approved an incentivepackage for the Eel River project, a total of $100,000 over fiveyears, in the form oftax rebates.
In addition, Iredell County is expected to grant the race teamanother $100,000 as an incentive to build in Talbert Pointe.
