Two more big box stores are scheduled to open this year, as wellas tworetail stores on pad sites and a couple of restaurants, oneof whichwill be a Longhorn Steakhouse.Construction began last year.Phase one is complete and the second andfinal phase is expected tobe finished next year.

"This is a regional draw site," says David Block, senior vicepresident with Block &Company Inc. Realtors. "And the demosshow thatit is one of the fastest growing areas in Kansas City."Theland was previously owned by the Peterson Co., which receivedtaxabatements and TIF money to help finance the project.
