Oltmans, R.D. Olson Team for 'Feel-Good' Project

LOS ANGELES-Oltmans Construction Co. of Whittier and R.D. Olson Construction have broken ground on a $3.7-million, 14,000-sf community education center at the Olive Crest Inland Community Ranch in Perris.

Oltmans and Irvine-based R.D. Olson are using donated materials and labor from their own firms and from hundreds of suppliers and subcontractors for the facility. Completion is scheduled for December.

The 10-acre project, designed by Art Danielian of Irvine-based Danielian & Associates, includes four seven-bedroom houses for abused and abandoned children. The houses were completed in May by Costa Mesa-based HomeAid America, founded by the Building Industry Association of Southern California.

HomeAid Riverside, a chapter of the Costa Mesa organization, built the houses in partnership with William Lyon Homes, Beazer Homes, Forecast Homes and Richmond American Homes. HomeAid Riverside is developing the educational center in partnership with Oltmans and Olson.
