Local developers Tom Waters and George Maloomian are seeking approval from the town of Huntersville, just north of Charlotte, to build a 446-home community on a former dairy farm. The project calls for 327 single-family units and 119 townhomes.

Tom Waters, president of Provident Development Group Inc., and George Maloomian, president of Cambridge Properties Inc., are hoping to develop a neighborhood with prices ranging from $130,000 to $300,000 per residence.

It’s the second time Waters and Maloomian have submitted a proposal to Huntersville officials for Carrington Ridge. Earlier this year, the plan was turned down because it did not meet the town’s open-space district requirements. This time around, the developers hired a land-planning firm to finesse the proposal.
