Conn’s, the state’s well-known independent appliance and home electronics dealer, is scouring the city for multiple sites for new stores, retail real estate brokers told GlobeSt.com.

In the near future, Conn’s is slated to open a 26,500-sf store in South Brook Town Center at the intersection of Interstate 35 and William Cannon. The Beaumont-based retailer is planning to expand its Austin holdings by opening five stores, typically in the 15,000-sf to 25,000-sf range, say real estate brokers.

Conn’s is one of the leading independent appliance and home electronics dealer in Houston, San Antonio, Golden Triangle in Texas and Lake Charles, Baton Rouge and Lafayette in LA. Real estate brokers say Conn’s is attracted by Austin’s robust economy as well as the area’s per capita income.
