Atlantic Redevelopment has selected San-Francisco-based URS Corp. to design the $84 million 17th Street Bridge that will connect Atlantic Steel’s planned 140-acre, estimated $1 billion downtown redevelopment project to Midtown.

Bridge construction could begin in late 2001 and be completed in 2003 if all pending federal, state and local approvals are satisfied.

The joint venture includes Jacoby Development Inc., CRB Realty Associates and AIG Global Real Estate.
