Several major high-tech players are locking up deals to relocateto the city, which is located near major arteries I-580 and I-680.This week, Alameda County supervisors will likely enter exclusivenegotiations with Cisco Systems. The San Jose-based software titanwants to buy several parcels of county surplus land in Dublin.

Also this week, Emeryville, Calif.-based software company Sybasebreaks ground on a new 420,000-corporate headquarters facility inEast Dublin. The building, expected to be done in 2001, will housemore than 1,000 workers.

Finally, high-tech players such as MacroMedia, EMC Corp., andSimpson Manufacturing have signed leases at the new 34-acre KollDublin Corporate Center at the corner of Tassajara Road and DublinBoulevard, and Pleasanton-based Commerce One has acquired optionsfor a land purchase - slated for a new headquarters - near Sybase'snew campus.
