NEW YORK CITY-The International Council of Shopping Centers has created an Office of the President to manage its affairs and oversee strategies related to its long-term future. The office will be occupied by current president and CEO John T. Riordan and recently appointed executive vice president Michael P. Kercheval who now adds the title of chief operating officer. Kercheval will continue to report to Riordan and be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the association. All ICSC divisions and departments will now report directly to him.

Additionally, in mid-year 2001, Riordan would become chairman of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for Real Estate in Cambridge, MA.

MIT’s Center for Real Estate was established 16 years ago. It offers a Masters Degree in real estate earned through an extensive 12-month course of study. It also conducts a number of other shorter professional development and career guidance programs throughout the year and publishes research findings of its students and faculty.
