The workers are members of Hotel Employees and RestaurantEmployees UnionLocal 30. They're in negotiations with management ofthe Hotel del Coronado and say they will picket if an agreementisn't reached by midnight Thursday.
The union wants a longer contract, better wages and a commitmentby thehotel to pick up the full cost of health insurance. Thehotel, on San Diego's Coronado Island, is in the midst of a$55-million renovation slated for completion next spring.
