Locally based Maintenance Warehouse says it bought privatelyheld N-E Thing Supply, but wouldn't disclose its price.Houston-based N-E Thing operates six warehouses that primarilycater to apartment owners.

Maintenance Warehouse services the multifamily market too, butmost of its customers own office, retail, industrial or hotelprojects. The company operates 15 distribution warehousesnationwide and is a subsidiary of home-improvement giant HomeDepot.

No layoffs are expected to result from the purchase of N-EThing, says Maintenance Warehouse President Larry Marmon. Hiscompany recently moved into a new, $14.3-million headquartersbuilding in the San Diego suburb of Poway and opened newdistribution centers in Phoenix and Florida.
